Dr. Brenda J. Hayes, Ph.D. is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. She has over 40 years of experience working with individuals, families, mental health professionals, schools, and community organizations.
Dr. Hayes holds a Ph.D. in Human Development, and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Virginia Tech. She promotes positive health and wellness through improved communication, personal empowerment, conflict resolution, and effective decision making, with a particular interest in the prevention of mental health problems by proactively addressing life changes.
Dr. Hayes also specializes in coaching to facilitate the effective management of change. Her personal coaching focuses on managing life challenges one-to-one, while organizational coaching centers on promoting improved workplace moral, productivity, and leadership development. Brenda has conducted hundreds of seminars and workshops across the country, promoting positive health and wellness through improved communication, personal empowerment, conflict resolution and effective decision-making.
As a member of the Fredonia NY Rotary Club, Brenda received the distinguished Paul Harris Fellowship award for her ongoing work with the international student exchange program. She is currently a member of the Ambler PA Rotary Club. In 2009, The Dunkirk-Fredonia chapter of the American Association of University Woman selected Dr. Hayes as the recipient of their Emerging Leader award in 2009. She is a member of the League of Women Voters and the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce, and sits on the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation Board. Brenda is a recipient of the Brocton Central School “Hall of Fame” award, and served for over a decade on the Alumni Association Board. She has two grown children and three grandchildren.
In 2006, following a successful career in counseling and consulting in Philadelphia, Brenda moved to her family farm in Brocton, NY, and in 2007 she opened her Personal Coaching practice in Fredonia, NY. In 2019 Dr. Hayes returned to the Philadelphia area. She is currently accepting a limited number of new counseling clients in Pennsylvania.
